I literally punched the air!
Normally I'm not an upgrade a plugin kinda of person, as I've already paid for it. But I decided to demo this collection because I haven't mixed a record without the original LA2A plugin since 2006. I knew within 60secs on my lead vocals that this was so much closer to my 60s Rev1 LA2A I literally punched the air! This new collection is soo close to post recording processing it blows me and my studio staff away....well done UA!

Leveler Collection: Full of Character, Not Phony Sounding
I really like working with this plugin. Yes, it adds character; at the same time, it doesn't try to be an 'over-the-top-woo-that's-an-LA-2A' thing. It's got subtlety and interesting nonlinearity, like the hardware.
I know, it's supposed to be all about vocals, but it's certainly got broader application. Sounds wonderful with piano, for example.
It's more transparent and interesting than the legacy plugin. As a hardware LA-610 user, I think it's got that vibe, but the important thing isn't whether it's just like hardware, it's whether the plugin stands on its own as a useful creative toolbox. It does.

I recently purchased the Fairchild Tube Limiter Collection and I had to write a review about it as it is fantastic in any of its fields: Put it on a drum or loop and the instrument comes perfectly out of the mix without being too loud, put it on the master and the whole mix turns into a shiny, high-priced, exclusive product.
I really want to recommend this plug-in and thank Universal-Audio for their great work

Yes indeed is something special!
I used it for a voice, drums, bass and flamenco guitarsa and these are excellents!

1176 Collection
Really pleased with these comps. A noticeable step up from the legacy version. Between the three of them it's easy to find something that does most jobs to a really high standard. The silver face is amazing for smashing drums. To my ears they capture the vibe of the hardware units really well. Wether they are a 'perfect' recreation or not doesn't really bother me, they sound great.

Fantastic!
I love these compressors. Very versatile and easy to use once you wrap your head around how to use them on different material. Great for adding crunch to drums, bass and instruments. I also like these for parallel compression, and for catching peaks in a vox signal chain before compressing it again with a slower compressor.

Fairchild Tube Limiter Collection
This is the most beautiful sounding plug-in I have ever used, sounds amazing in every track, adds warmth, colour and clarity. I can highly recommend this compressor.

They keep getting better...
So glad that I took the plunge on this. An EQ may not be as sexy when budgeting, but this one is a necessity. The amp stage is modeled extremely well. You hear the tone imparted at different gain levels. Overall, one of the most musical sounding plugins I've ever used. A top 5 for sure.
