Der Marshall JMP 2203 Verstärker wurde 1975 vorgestellt und leitete eine neue Ära der Dominanz des Herstellers für den Rockbereich ein. Der JMP 2203, der 1981 in JCM800 umbenannt wurde, bot ein breites Spektrum moderner Crunch- sowie fetter Cleansounds an, die in ihrer Intensität variierbar waren. In den folgenden Jahrzehnten wurde der 2203 zum Lieblingsverstärker etlicher Künstler von Jeff Beck und Andy Summers über Tom Morello, Judas Priest, Slayer bis hin zu Joey Santiago von den Pixies.
Das Marshall JMP 2203 Plug-In wurde von Softube exklusiv für UAD-2 Hardware und Apollo Audio Interfaces entwickelt und stellt eine sorgfältige Emulation dieses bahnbrechenden Verstärkers dar. Die sorgfältige Nachbildung reicht bis hin zu den vier EL34-Endstufenröhren und dem sensibel und musikalisch reagierenden High-Gain-Vorverstärker. Um den JMP 2203 zu modellieren, lieh Marshall den Entwicklern von Softube ein JMP 2003 Topteil von 1977 im Originalzustand aus dem hauseigenen Museum. Softube emulierte den Klang dieses in der Vorstufe äußerst anschlagsdynamischen und mit dreidimensionalem Crunch reagierenden Originalverstärkers bis ins letzte Detail und kombinierte ihn mit einer Marshall-Lautsprecherbox 1960B 4x12 mit Celestion GT12-75 Bestückung.

Das Marshall JMP 2203 Plug-In bildet penibel einen der klanglich markantesten Marshall-Verstärker aller Zeiten ab. Sein simpler Aufbau mit zwei unterschiedlich empfindlichen Eingängen (Hi/Low) und einem dynamisch reagierendem Vorverstärker liefern ein breites Klangspektrum von kraftvollen, ausdrucksstarken Clean- und Crunchsounds bis zu dichter Verzerrung.
Klangabstimmung einer Legende
Produzent und Toningenieur Tony Platt hat einige der bekanntesten Marshall-Klänge aller Zeiten auf Band gebannt – allen voran die beiden AC/DC-Meilensteine Highway to Hell und Back in Black. Softube konnte Platt dafür gewinnen, eine exquisite Auswahl von Boxen- und Mikrofonplatzierungen zu erstellen, bei denen er seine in der Praxis bewährten und mit Platin ausgezeichneten Mikrofonierungstechniken einsetzte. Wähle aus 50 von Platt entworfenen Presets oder erstelle deine eigenen Sounds.
Mischen mit zwei professionellen Mikrofonpositionen
Öffne den Channel-Strip-Bereich des Plug-Ins und erstelle Deinen gewünschten Sound leicht über den zweikanaligen Mixer und díe fünf verfügbaren Mikrofon-Optionen pro Kanal. Neben individuellen Lautstärke- und Panoramareglern pro Kanal, stimmst du deine Sounds weiter über das Input Gate und einen dreibandigen Equalizer mit variabler Mittenfrequenz ab.
Unison Technik für authentische JMP 2203 Sounds
Die Interaktion der Tonabnehmer deiner Gitarre mit der Eingangsstufe des Verstärkers ist entscheidend, um den richtigen Ton und das Spielgefühl des Verstärkers einzufangen. Dank der Unison-Technik von UA, profitieren Apollo-Anwender von der exakten Umsetzung der Impedanz, so als wäre das Instrument direkt in einen alten Marshall 2203 eingesteckt – eine Funktion, die du nur bei Apollo Audio Interfaces findest.

Долго сомневался, какой именно усилитель из Маршалов купить, много тестов провел, но именно 2203 показал себя самым универсальным. Очень хорошо реализована настройка и выбор балансов микрофонов, можно получить практически любой звук. Фантастика!

Marshall Madness
I am not a huge Marshall fan and have never owned a real one, but I just shut my eyes and listen. This thing is the missing link for my personal taste and has opened me up to new tones I had no idea about. I’m a Fender guy and love my 90”s Tone Master head, but there is no plug-in for that so I found JMP 2203 for my direct recording.
So fun to mess with all the different ways to get a cool sounds for recording.
