Unvergleichbare Dichte
Der unverwechselbare Charakter des AKG BX 20 macht es zu einem vielseitigen Werkzeug für zusätzliche Räumlichkeit und die Klangformung. Seine Klangeigenschaften bieten den schnellen Einsatz eines klassischen Plattenhalls und darüber hinaus die natürlich klingende Dichte und Streuung einer Hallkammer — dabei produziert es nur wenige Flatter- und „Boing“-Artefakte, mit denen man für gewöhnlich bei anderen Federhall-Geräten kämpft.
Entgegen anderer Federhall-Emulationen präsentiert Universal Audios einzige Plug-In-Variante dieses mechanisch kontrollierten, akustischen Raumsystems ein hybrides Design aus Delay-Netzwerk und Faltungshall. UA emulierte für die Realisierung ein makelloses BX 20 Referenzgerät des berühmten Produzenten Jon Brion bis ins letzte Detail.

Das BX 20 Plug-In bildet das einzigartige Zweistufen-Decay der Hardware präzise ab. Es erzeugt warme, organische Sounds, egal ob auf Percussions, Gesang oder Gitarren. Es fügt eine einzigartige Klangfarbe hinzu, die einzelne Spuren aus einem Mix heraustreten lassen — oder diese vollständig mit dem Track verschmelzen. Kurze Texturen strotzen vor ausdrucksstarker Tiefe und Dimension, während längere Decays voll von üppiger Dreidimensionalität sind und dabei trotzdem nie verwaschen.
Neue Funktionen - mehr Kontrolle
Das BX 20 Plug-In bietet das komplette Sound-Repertoire des Originals und liefert zusätzlich neue "Mk II" Features für eine erweiterte Klangpalette. Tank Select präsentiert den exakten Sound des ursprünglichen A/B Zweikammernsystems, enthält darüber hinaus aber eine stereofähige Tank A oder Tank B Funktion für eine ausgewogenere Stereoabbildung.
Die Direct Function ermöglicht das Stummschalten des Kammer-Direktsignals für zusätzliche Kontrolle und die Minimierung von Konflikten mit Quellsignalen – ideal für den Einsatz auf Bussen. Die Klangregelung im Baxandall-Stil, die aus dem kleineren AKG BX 10 stammt, bietet die abschließende Finesse zur Anpassung deiner Reverbs.

From the second I set this plug-in up I knew I found what I was looking for. Springy goodness that is unparralel to standard spring plugins. It took just a bit of time to dial in the right sound that I wanted and it just brought my mix to life. The word "Iconic" comes to mind. And thankfully, I made a recording in London in the late 80's with one of these units and never found that sound again, until now! Thanks again UA!!

A very special reverb!
This is the biggest and warmest sounding reverb I've ever tried! It sounds wonderful when it's louder and with more length to clearly hear the beauty in its sound! It's great that it has two different reverbs on the left and right channels, giving the sound even more space! Fits great on synths, guitars, drums, and anything you want to add some massive space to!

While I prefer the EMT reverbs as room simulation, this spring reverb still has a nice spot on my workflow. When I want to obtain an unrealistic effect on an individual instrument or just create some depth, the AKG BX 20 opens a lot of creative solutions without requiring much DSP usage. It is can also be used more subtly than, for instance, a tape echo. Another reason why I find it useful is for rehearsal: I often place it on an Aux on my Console and feed it with some signal from the input while I am playing the flute or saxophone.

So glad I can get rid of my cheap spring reverb that get constantly broken-down !
