Geschichte des Tweet
Als eines der ersten und besten Verstärker-Designs von Leo Fender, wurde der Deluxe 1946 vorgestellt — und damit viele Jahre vor der Veröffentlichung seiner ersten Solidbody-E-Gitarre. Nach verschiedenen Anpassungen der Schaltkreise landete Fender 1955 schließlich bei dem heute historischen "Wide-Panel" 5E3 Deluxe. Diese Version wurde mit seinem einzelnen 12“-Lautsprecher und den beiden 6V6-Leistungsröhren, die circa 15 Watt Leistung produzierten als ultimativer Verstärker für den Einsatz in Bars, mittelgroßen Clubs und im Studio zu einem Favoriten unter Country-, Blues-, und früher Rock-Gitarristen.
Endlose Klangfarben
Vor der Erfindung von Overdrive-, Boost- und Distortion-Pedalen schätzten Recording Engineers und Gitarristen die fast schon unheimliche Fähigkeit des Tweed Deluxe mit einer perfekten Balance aus Lieblichkeit, Detailreichtum und Kompression scheinbar mit dem Mikrofon zu sprechen - was auch für seine berühmte Schärfe galt, wenn man den Verstärker richtig aufgedreht hat. Von Neil Young´s ungezähmten Gebrüll über die fröhlich trällernden Texturen eines Daniel Lanois, dem frühen Boogie von Bill Gibbons bis hin zu den singenden Lead-Sounds von Larry Carlton - der Tweed Deluxe bettelte förmlich darum, aufgenommen zu werden.
Durch Forschung und Wissen
fanden wir ... MagieZu diesem Zweck wählte Universal Audio zwei nicht modifizierte 1955 Tweed Deluxe Verstärker als Referenzmodelle für die Modellierung. Daraufhin begann ein zweijähriges F&E-Projekt, um jede einzelne Komponente zu erfassen — vom Papier der Lautsprechermembran und der Wärmeableitung bis hin zu den Kondensatoren und Transformatoren der Filter — die entscheidenden Zutaten, um mit dem tweed Deluxe nur mit den Volume und Tone Reglern einen ausdrucksstarken, dynamischen und einfach aufzunehmenden Sound zu erzeugen.
Drei genreprägende Lautsprecher
Mit dem ’55 Tweed Deluxe Plug-In erhältst du drei weit verbreitete „Hot Rod“-Lautsprechermodelle, die von den Profis seit mehr als 40 Jahren eingesetzt werden. Der 1955 Jensen P12R Originallautsprecher liefert klirrende Höhen und einen satten Bass, während der 25 Watt Celestion dickere Mitten, samtige Höhen und einen aggressiveren Ton erzeugt. Der JBL-D120F — ein 120 Watt Hi-Fi-Monster — bleibt klar und unberührt mit luftigerer Präsenz als die Original-Jensen. Damit liefert er einen prägnanten Sound mit mehr Höhen.
Professionell platziertes doppeltes Mikrofon-Setup
Das ’55 Tweed Deluxe Plug-In bietet Klangfarben meisterhaft platzierter Mehrfach-Mikrofonien mit einer Auswahl an legendären Mikrofonen - und keinerlei Phasenprobleme. Mische ein seltenes 60er-Jahre Beyer M160 und ein weißes Sennheiser MD-421, ein modernes Royer R-121 und ein handverlesenes, klassisches Neumann U-67 der Ocean Way Studios und gleiche deren Signale an. Verwende auch den intuitiven Mic Mixer, um deine Klangfarben mit separatem Level, Pan und High-Pass-Filtern zu würzen. Für eine weitere Klanganpassung kannst du zusätzlich jedes Mikrofon auf eine zweite Position außerhalb der Einsprechrichtung einstellen.
Unison Technologie für Apollo Interfaces
Durch den Einsatz von UA´s bahnbrechender Unison Technologie erhältst du mit dem Fender '55 Tweed Deluxe Plug-In die Impedanz, das Gainstaging und Schaltungsverhalten, die dazu beigetragen haben den Tweed Deluxe zu einem der meist aufgenommenen Gitarrenverstärker der Geschichte zu machen. Und wie am ursprünglichen Verstärker kannst du deine Gitarre in einen der vier Verstärkereingänge einstecken und so vier verschiedene Verstärkungspegel oder Impedanzwechsel erreichen - oder du steckst ein klassisches Y-Kabel ein, um die Eingänge zu überbrücken und die Kanäle zu mischen.

Demoed this one a million times when I needed a quick decent sounding guitar amp in a snap on a session, without adding to noise and bleed in the room. When gain staged correctly (note the line/normal switch, which is what makes this usable) this thing sings! One of the better sounding amp simulations for your DAW.

How can anyone think this responds like an amp
I gave this another demo to see if I was missing something…..nope, it’s just horrible and has an ugly clipping on the input no matter what you do…..just an ugly clipping nothing like an amp. The signal even from a Telecaster is just too hot for the input and it clips. Just useless . How anyone can give this 1 star is beyond me. I had to give it 1 instead of the zero it deserves. My guess is those who like it run a stack of distortion and never notice the ugly clipping right at the beginning of the chain.

I own, worked on, set and tried a lot of Gtr Amps as plug-ins. This one feels like the closest to a real Amp feeling, in sound , in hands and in vibe. It is plug 'n play, in whichever setting you adjust. I own a 70's vintage Peavy VT series which I love, and the plug in brings me the same experience. The only thing I d like to be added, is a vintage built in spring reverb. I know I use aux sends in the UAD console, but the build is different because it's added ro the circuit of the Amp.

It really just works. It sounds great, the mic emulator is cool and it doesn't take long to find great tones. Also it sounds great as a overdrive for vocals or drums, tons of creative possibilities. Love it. Didn't really think it would get used much but I keep finding things to experiment with it on.

is love to strong a word?
I have some really nice old amps that I love but when it's time to record, I break out the 55 tweed plugin. Plain and simple, I have yet to find something that sounds and records better than this. UAD really knocked it out of the park with this plugin.

Tube amps are not warm and smooth. tube amps are bright and have this trantiant spank. they have a glassy tone to them and really just find a way to have a shine without being harsh... this is one of the only amp sims of a 55 tweed that sounds like my real amp. my axe fx 3 can get close but this just feels so good and sounds amazing.

Chime for days
The Fender 55 unison amp is awesome for great for beautiful clean chime. Or crank it up for some dirty Neil Young tones. I'm particularly loving this one.
