UAD-2 PCIe DSP Accelerator Cards

I loved my UAD-1e. The trade in special was a no brainer for me. I always planned to move to a UAD-2 but the trade in special just made it sooner. The emulations are top notch as always.

My one and only problem with this card is that Pro Tools (although it officially supports the card) will not run with any reliability with even one instance of a UA plugin running. I don't blame Universal Audio for that. I blame the DAW. I also use Samplitude and Sonar. Both work flawlessly with the UAD-2 Solo.

It's an excellent product.

Finally 

I'v been dreaming about the UAD 2 quad core card for years. finally got it and it was every thing I hoped it would be and more. I actually purchased a Duo & Quad at the same time.    

I just can't believe the stability of it in comparison to the UAD 1 card. I use to get crashes any time I attempted automation , but this thing can handle anything I through at it. It just doesn't quit.

I feel like I'm dreaming and this can't be real. 

About a month ago I purchased the UAD-2 SOLO DSP Accelerator, At first I was not impressed with these effects, I auditioned almost all of them at the same time.
Then I started to use a few of them together, the sound improved a lot.
Now I have a $500 voucher, that came with this system, to buy effects and I can't decide what to buy because the 14 days trial expired.
It would be nice if Universal Audio would allow to reaudition these effects even if they would put in a click every minute or so.

My advise to anyone buying this system, audition only a few effects at the time.

Hi the included plugins are nice. I mostly got this for reverbs. I use the real verb pro for Stereo Reverb busses on Drums Vocals and Music(everything else). I added the emt 140 for Vocals and 250 for Snare, toms, tambourines claps ... I really love the EMTs...

I've been using UAD plugin for years. Every project has them all over it.

I don't think I could mix as well without the 1176 & 1073.
Very stable and makes me very confident that they work as advertised each and every time without a hitch!

UA support is also top-notch. That have helped me a few times over the years and have always been a pleasure to speak with.

I had 2 uad-1 but always had to think twice to use the precision multiband compressor now with uad-2 duo that is not a problem anymore.Thanks!

I took the offer to give back my old UAD-1 Cards for a rebate on a UAD-2 Duo.
I had a UAD-2 Solo before. What can I say ? The DUO does exact what I expect - it works (fine) :-)

The UAD 2 Duo systems has been a Godsend! I've been mixing with it for several over 6 months and it always gets used during mix and tracking! I would love to get a UAD Quad just so I can run more plugins!

I truly like UA's dynamic plugins, especially the LA-2. It's a very effective compressor and limiter! I've listened to some samples of other UA plugins and they're all very good! But with one exception, the Analog Reel-To-Reel Tape Machines by Ampex and Studer; they just don't have that "Body and Open Space" like the real ones back in days. Hey, we can't have it all. UA overall creates great gears for professionals and those who want to become professionals!

Great sounding plug-ins with a powerful card. I have the Waves Platinum bundle and 3 other Waves bundles, and I hardly use any of them any more since the UAD plugs are so much better. No one else gets their models this close to the original hardware.

An amazing stuff, which gives a fantastic results that non other plug-ins can give.I always use to miss something in my mixes,which frustrated me....after using UAD, all my worries are . UAD works like a good surgeon who treats a patient like a baby.Every one knows that a recording and mixing is not a easy task...but for those engineers who have UAD mixing is smooth an satisfactory. UAD, for me, personally is a great asset for my recording and mixing.

Excellent product for having topnotch effect plugins like the Lexicon 224, Dimension D, RE-201 and the EP-34. No other plugins maker has that "sound" captured so good. The big plus is... when you worked all your time with the "real" deal and working now with the plugs. It's the same layout, you can dail in so quickly your sound that you need. Top Notch!

UA has not let me down yet.... Loving my UAD-2 Duo Card/Plugs! If you own Pro Tools Native this is a must have. The V6.1 makes it so easy because it does not require the RTAS wrapper once needed! We all know once you start mixing along with having VI in Pro tools you run into CPU usage hikes. Nice thing is what plugs you use DOES NOT TAX your PT sessions. 1176/LA2a along rock!!! Can't wait to add to plugs to my UAD-2... Actually I want another UAD-2 DUO!

The only missing thing?
Harmonizers…. and 5.1 tools…..
But it's a bit like asking your wife/husband to get even better everyday,
when all you know is you just wouldn't envisage any n,ew project without her/him…

I love my UAD 2 Duo! I can't even think of the time when I didn't have the countless possibilities that this piece of gear has to offer. The stock plugins sound really good. Although upgrading to the amazing stuff is really pricy its well worth the extra penny because you get what you pay for. With the DSP power that the Duo has to offer you can mix for a while before running out of memory but freezing your tracks (if your sequencer supports it) gives you endless possibilities and saves you the cash that you would have spend on a quad card. Unless you mind freezing and unfreezing from time to time.

Overall I can't live without it!

For me it is a big leap....and i was cautious at first....but this platform is really helping me get a sound where so many other plugin combinations seem to leave me a little lost and wanting.
The UAD SSL channel is the last one i bought and i have all the other versions.
I never expected this to be of any more help than the others to be honest...and my experience has been ''looks good but it falls short somehow''.
The UAD version is like putting on a pair glasses after years of blurry vision!
All of a sudden the compressor and even the dreaded gate actually work !
And the E.Q just feels more secure.
I also just bought the dbx 160 and it is really good....and also the moog filter which has actually allowed my moog soft synths to begin to sound like a moog!
I had actually given up on that i must admit !
